Whale watching in Uvita Costa Rica has 2 seasons: from mid-July to mid-November and from mid-December to April. These seasons are based on the annual migration cycle of humpback whales. The animals come from far and wide to visit Marino Ballena in Uvita. Every year, Southern Hemisphere humpback whales migrate from Antarctica to Costa Rica, arriving in late July. Pacific whales from the northern hemisphere do the same, but travel from Alaska to Costa Rica and arrive in late December. They range from 5,000 km (3,100 miles) to 8,000 km (5,000 miles); Twice a year! In September and October, you have the best chance of whale watching with a whale watching trip to Marino Ballena in Uvita, Costa Rica. Note: Price per person.
